It’s raining today down here in Houston; that should make it much more fun, being cooped up indoors. The staff here at Casa de Louis is becoming extremely short tempered, rude and often-times downright hostile…especially the kitchen staff.
I had hoped for at least a brief appearance from the sun, so that I could move from Los Livingroom, to Puerto Backyardo, in order to catch some sort of tan. Looks like today is not going to be that day, as I’m sitting in my office, watching and listening to the rain softly bounce against the windows.
I haven’t watched the news in a few days…I’m getting most of my information from Instagram, y’all KNOW the Gram wouldn’t lead me wrong…but my inner Houstonian, is looking out over the greyness of this morning, and hoping that Mother Nature is not getting ready to launch a hand grenade at the Gulf Coast, and send us an early present in the form of a Cat 3 or 4 Hurricane.
We, as in our family unit, are surviving. Thus far, I will NOT be on the premiere episode of next season’s Snapped….BUT…I’ll tell y’all right now….putting this entire city on lockdown, kids home, spouses home (with ALL THEIR HELPFUL IDEAS on how to make things run smoother), dogs everywhere, no outside errands to run, trying to figure out what to make for dinner with ONE pound of ground meat-a can of beans from 2018-and a can of spinach….THEN hear your local weather man say, “Looky there, Hurricane Axel is forming in the Gulf a bit early for the season. Who woulda’ thought?”
Choke.
Then Hurricane Axel comes in like he’s the lead singer of Guns-N-Roses, wrecks everything, knocks out power, all the while belting out, “WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE…I WANNA HEAR YOU SCREAM.”
And we’re all still quarantined together, but now with NO POWER.
Forget welcome to the jungle…welcome to The Hunger Games. May the odds be ever in your favor.
But, for today, I’ll sit here at Casa de Louis. I’ll wait for the sun, and maybe take a peek at the hurricane charts…just in case.
Oh, and in case y’all were wondering, Walmart has released the jumpsuits according to your District…at least, I think they have…I saw it on Instagram. #mustbetrue
