Goa

Yesterday I dipped my toes into the Arabian Sea.
As I type this post, I can hear the flute player from across the courtyard softly sharing his tune. The waves are crashing onto the beach in time with my heartbeat–maybe my heartbeat has adjusted to the waves.
There’s a HUGE blackbird staring at me from the chair to my left…I’m almost certain it’s the same one from breakfast. That one wanted my eggs. The birds here are ridiculous.
I’m 10,000 miles away from home.
My husband does business in India, and on occasion he is required to visit. I was invited to come along this time. Many of my faithful readers just had to read that last sentence again. Yes, I went to India. I had to read that sentence again. Rest assured there was vodka and Xanax involved in getting me into a plane for a FIFTEEN HOUR journey.
Today we will leave this beautiful beach, and head back to Mumbai; where we will spend just one night before heading North. I am excited to meet the people Jeff does business with. We will connect with them tomorrow.
The culture over here is very different. Dogs roam the streets…no one seems to be bothered by them. They don’t seem to really belong to anyone…they’re just sort of there. Cows are another sight all to themselves.
They roam the streets like dogs. On our ride from the Goa airport, our poor chauffeur had to use some driving maneuvers that would make even the most seasoned NASCAR racers jealous. The cows do not move for you—YOU move for the cows.
It is definitely a different experience over here. Stayed tuned for more posts about my trip around the world!!
